We have floors! After evaluating the timeline and what still needs to be done before we can move in, we decided to try to get the wood flooring installed this weekend. (We're really pushing to move in by the end of this month - mostly to save us from paying another month's rent!)
13 hours and 4 trips to Menards later...
My dad working on the floors
Finished Kitchen Floor
Finished Living Room Floor
Finished Dining Room Floor
...we have floors! We had to rent the staple gun for installing this type of flooring from Menards. We picked it up first thing in the morning and returned it 5 minutes before they closed at 9:00 pm. We literally put the last staple in the floor, packed up the stapler and drove it back to Menards in the nick of time. But the floors are done and we don't have to rent it again!
In other news...
...I grouted the backsplash tile, which continues to look amazing. : )
...we put in new pendant lights. These are a little more substantial than the previous pendants and we like them.
...we finished sloping, tiling and grouting the shower floor. That project is inches away from being finished.
...my dad almost completed the window seat. Another project that is inches from finished.
Pete also installed the closet system in the master closet, but I forgot to take a picture. : (
Hopefully the stairs and railing will be finished this week. When that is done, we can get carpet laid upstairs and (hopefully) move in!!
Amy, did you get your flooring from Lumber Liquidators? We have a flooring project coming up... Matt
ReplyDeleteNope...we got some samples from them but didn't really see what we wanted at our price point, so we ended up at Rockford Floor Coverings. We went in and told the salesman what we wanted and at what price point. He spent a few days digging around and came up with several options for us. When my parents built their house, they priced out a lot of places and thought Rockford was the best.
